On May 21st, III Corps and Fort Hood will host a Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Ceremony at 1000 on Sadowski Parade Field. This event will celebrate all of our Vietnam Veterans giving them the return ceremony they very much deserve.
Saber 13 (Chuck Ridenour) was the first and only B Troop casuality at the HEADHUNTER’s Spur Ride on 8 March 2012, at Fort Hood, Texas. You should have attended and enjoyed ineracting with the HEADHUNTERs!!!

On February 26, 1971, Forty One years ago, Bravo Troop, 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry lost two of its own while providing close air support to an ambushed ARVN convoy in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia. Saber White, CPT Jon E. Swanson age 28, and Saber White Mike, SSG Larry G. Harrison age 23, were killed when their OH-6A LOH was shot down and crashed when CPT Swanson reengaged enemy anti-aircraft positions that threatened the friendly ground forces.
This photo of Jon standing by the LOH with Little Caesre (probably misspelled but the spelling on the AC was odd too) is just like him. That was his favorite AC and the one he flew most often. Doug Ricks
The OH-6A LOH that Jon and Larry were Flying and Fighting in when they were shot down on February 26, 1971. The picture was taken at Firebase Mace sometime in early 1971.

Bullwhip Squadron Reunion 2012 - Fort Hood and Killeen, Texas

This Reunion will be after the Columbus Day holiday so we will be able to interact with the HEADHUNTER Troopers. More info will be posted as we develop the plan and an update will be in the March newsletter.
Contracts were signed with the Shilo Inn, Reunion Headquarters, and the Killeen Civic Center for the reunion this week (10 Nov) and from what I saw at the Shilo Inn the facilities are outstanding and will be the best we have ever had.
